Just got the results for an MRI of my LT shoulder. Impressions: No labral tear. 2. Tendinopathy versus intrasubstance tear of the supraspinatus tendon. 3. Type 1 acromion with severe degenerative changes of the acromioclavicular joint. Correlate clinically for impingement symptoms. 4. Severe chondromalacia of glenoid with subchondral cyst. Could I possibly be looking at surgery or can this be treated by other means?
The MRI shows findings of a muscular strain or a mild tear of your supraspinatus muscle usually used in the throwing action. You do not need surgery at present. But if you neurological symptoms like numbnessradiating pain or tinglung sensation it may be due to arthritis of acromion. Your shoulder joinyt also shows age related degenerative process whibh idnormak if you are over 40
